Choices choices...

It's like a yoyo this side. One minute we are so totally grabbing the little boy and adopting him too - the next minute we're poepbang (South African for scared as all, well, youknowwhat). Oh my word! Can you actually believe that this is happening? Because if you can't believe it, just imagine how shellshocked we must be. Oh my word.

We have sort of decided that we will adopt him, if Lindsay (the birthmom of Jesse-Lee) is ok with the idea. You guys are quite wise, you know! We hadn't even really thought of how it would impact Lindsay's decision to choose us, if we had another baby in the house. So, next week Wednesday, when we get together with Victor and Lindsay again, we will approach them and ask them if it would influence their decision if little Jesse-Lee would be getting a brother pretty soon afterwards too. If they say no, they don't like the idea, then we'll say no. We have already spoken to Debbie (our social worker) and she says it sounds fantastic! And she would be able to piggy back the two adoptions simultaneously.

Oh my word! Can you even believe we are considering this??? I know. Me neither!

Wow, what a different Mother's Day this Sunday is going to be, compared to all the previous Mother's Days! Yay! I can't wait!

Man this sounds great- like I told you yesterday. I know it all seems huge but really you have to have trust and faith that there is a bigger plan. Which I know you guys do but sometimes we forget that when we find it hard to see the whole big picture. Hey, and who knows you might get your rugby team in the end...ha ha

It sounds like a good plan. I think Lindsay will appreciate that you are respecting the GIFT she is giving you and Robin, and putting her wishes front and center.

A little caution (hope this okay) . . . walk gently when mentioning that this other baby is related to you, as, I dunno, it could potentially make her uneasy about you having a blood-connection to that baby and not hers -- I hope you catch my drift.

WE know that biology is NOT what makes a family -- I just wouldn't want that factor to somehow get messed up in Lindsay's very-pregnant & hormonal mind ;o)

SO glad you checked in with your social worker before getting ahead of yourselves, too!

A week after we accepted our referral of Kira (from China), our local social worker (Catholic Charities) called and said they had a 2 year old boy for us. ARGH! We wanted them BOTH, of course, but China would not allow us to have Kira if we took this little boy first. So we had to turn down the placement of the little boy. That was a VERY difficult moment, as you can imagine.

Hmmm, when it rains it pours?!?! (Do they say that in South Africa? They say it A LOT in the U.S.A.).

I haven't known you/been reading your blog for long but I couldn't think of a more deserving couple!!

I also think it is a wise decision to speak with Lindsay & Victor. While it would be tough raising two babies together at the same time, I can't help but think of all of the chaos would be fun and filled with love and companionship.

You are in my thoughts!

The stars have aligned. A blessing. I will caution, though, that 2 babies might be alot of work - thats 24/7 x2. Either way - you have my positive vibes

Hi guys! Thanks for all the groovy notes you left me. Just a quickie response - Ms J, sorry about the confusion! This little guy isn't related to me, but to our friend who phoned me. So, luckily (for Lindsay's sake) there's no blood relation to be concerned about! And Rita, thanks so much for always sending me some positive fertility vibes! I always smile when you write that. But I really don't believe in the stars aligning, etc. I don't mind that you do, promise. But I just wanted to mention it for the sake of anybody reading the comments who might think that I also believe in the stars... Not to be contrary or anything like that. Just for clarity sake.
And as always, I LOVED hearing from ALL of you! c",)

Hey, I just heard a rumour that you guys were getting the baby I've been praying you would! So I checked your site and found your blogsite. :D Wonderful! I am so excited for you! I'll look forward to more updates...and I'll pray for both babies, that God will put them where He wants them...especially if that's with you!

Hugs,
